Hansen Technologies Limited (HSN) advises that APT Allgas Energy Pty Ltd (a 100% owned subsidiary of the Australian Pipeline Trust (APA)) has selected Hansen's HUB-Network system to deliver a Full Retail Contestable (FRC) compliant meter/customer management and billing solution for APA's recently acquired Queensland Gas Distribution Business. The contract is valued at circa $3.4M over 3 years.
FRC is scheduled to commence in Queensland for gas utilities on 1 July 2007. The current meter management and billing systems of the recently acquired Queensland Gas Distribution Business do not support an FRC environment. The tender search for an FRC compliant solution undertaken by APA concluded recently with the selection of Hansen's HUB-Networks software.
The Queensland gas market rules are based upon the Victorian gas retail rules with Vencorp being the chosen operator of the FRC market systems for Queensland. Hansen's proposed solution is compliant with the Victorian gas rules and the company has considerable experience in applying that knowledge in other states throughout Australia.
Hansen's Chief Executive, Mr Andrew Hansen, said "Over recent years we have invested considerably in developing our core proprietary software products with the objective of delivering market leading solutions for energy companies in deregulating markets. I am delighted that our HUB software has again been chosen by an energy industry leader to deliver their metering management solutions. Our faith in our product, people, delivery capability and company direction is confirmed again. I am excited to be involved as a mission critical solution provider to APA and I look forward to a long term mutually successful relationship."
