Phil James appointed Director

Hansen Technologies Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Phil James to the position of non-executive Director with effect from 1 October 2008.

In announcing this appointment the Hansen Technologies Chairman, Ken Hansen, said "It is a pleasure to welcome Phil James as a member of our Board. The considerable depth of Phil's energy industry knowledge as well as his extensive experience in managing the direct energy retail business for Australia's largest energy retailer represents the combination of expertise we have been looking to add to our Board. I am convinced Phil has a great deal of value to offer to our company and I am excited by the prospect."

The appointment of Phil James as an independent non-executive Director increases the number of Hansen Directors to five consisting of one executive and four non-executive Directors. This appointment fills a casual vacancy on the Board and in accordance with the Company's constitution Phil James will be presented for re-election as a Director at the coming Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on 19 November 2008.

About Phil James:
Phil James has over 30 years experience in the Australian and New Zealand energy sectors holding senior executive positions with AGL Energy and NGC Holdings (NZ).

Phil's extensive career of over 25 years with AGL, (Australia's largest energy retailer, serving more than 3.4 million customers), included positions in sales, marketing, operations and senior executive roles and culminating in his appointment in March 2005 as Group General Manager Retail with responsibility for AGL's direct energy retail businesses Australia wide.

Phil holds a Graduate Diploma in Marketing from the Macquarie Graduate School of Management in Sydney and he is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is also a Director of Entity Holdings, a Singapore-based energy metering and measurement business.
