Update on impact of earthquake in Japan

Tuesday 15 March, 2011

Hansen Technologies Limited (ASX: HSN) wishes to acknowledge the difficulties being experienced by our customers and distributor in Japan following Friday's earthquake and subsequent tsunami. Our thoughts and best wishes go out to our colleagues and friends in Japan. We wish to assure them of our support through the difficulties they are facing and will continue to face in the coming months.

We also wish to reassure our shareholders that our business in Japan is not directly associated with the generation of energy but rather is related to the provision of software to enable the billing of customers and the management of customer churn in their emerging deregulating energy market.

In response to a number of shareholder queries regarding the exposure of the Hansen business to these events in Japan we wish to confirm that our income from licences in Japan is not a material element of our Group revenue and we anticipate no material impact to our revenue as a result of this disaster.

Furthermore we note the sudden reduction in our share price yesterday and advise that we are not aware of any reason related to our business which would explain why such a fall may have occurred. It is our view that the impact of the Japanese disaster will not have a material impact on our operating results this year and hence we do not see these events as being a realistic justification for a reduction in our share price.
